It is a member of the feldspathoid family. These are minerals that resemble feldspars but have much lower silica content.<\/p><p>It usually is found on large masses of Albite with Aegrine inclusions, as well as near hydrothermal <a href=\"https:\/\/thecrystalcouncil.com\/crystals\/sodalite\">Sodalite<\/a> veins. Occasionally, the minerals can even occur together, creating an extremely valuable specimen. The color can range from light red to a dark crimson. This can brighten and alter its own appearance when exposed to light.<\/p><p>This natural occurring phenomenon is called reverse photochromism, also known as being tenebrescent.<\/p><p>Tugtupite was first discovered in 1962 in Tugtup Agt\u00e2korfia, Narsaq municipality, Greenland. Obviously it was named after it\u2019s original locality. It is derived from the Greenlandic Inuit word \u201cTuttu\u201d, that corresponds to \u201cReindeer, or Reindeer Blood.\u201d Since its initial discovery in Greenland, Tugtupite has only been found two other times throughout the world.<\/p><p>One being the Lovozero Massif in Russia, with intense year round weather conditions. The other being in the Mont-Saint-Hilaire region of Quebec, Canada.<\/p><h2><strong>Meaning &amp; Energy<\/strong><\/h2><p>Tugtupite activates and engages our upper four chakras.\u00a0 These are heart, throat, third eye &amp; crown.
