Science & Origin of Imperial Topaz<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Imperial Topaz Crystal, also known as Golden Topaz. It is an aluminum silicate fluoride hydroxide mineral that crystallizes in the form of small prismatic crystals. The color is usually a dark orange that may be semi-transparent But can also be seen as light red-orange-yellow as well.<\/p>\n

This color of Topaz can occur naturally, although it is extremely rare. This has led to the market being flooded with heat treated and dyed Colorless Topaz which is being sold as natural Imperial Topaz. As stated in the Colorless Topaz<\/a> article, it is extremely important to know who you are buying your Topaz crystals from. Especially Imperial Topaz, because it is the most challenging color to identify whether or not it’s been treated or not. One suggestion is to look at the piece very closely and examine every small crevice.<\/p>\n
