It crystallizes in botryoidal clusters, prismatic crystals, globular structures, and crusts. Its color is usually a light green to lime green color, but can be found in darker hues depending on the copper inclusions within.<\/p><p>Conichalcite was discovered in 1849 by A. Breithaupt and C.J. Fritzsche in the Don Bonete mine, Hinojosa del Duque, C\u00f3rdoba, Andalusia, Spain, The name is derived from the Greek words \u201cKonis\u201d and \u201cChalkos\u201d meaning \u201cpowder\u201d and \u201ccopper\u201d.<\/p><p>This was in reference to its findings being in copper mines and color similar to other copper oxides. Conichalcite can be found in most copper mines throughout the world.
