It crystallizes in mass formations. Some minerals that can also be found as trace amounts in the chemical composition are <a href=\"https:\/\/thecrystalcouncil.com\/crystals\/magnetite\">Magnetite<\/a>, Olivine, Illmenite, Clinopyroxene, and Amphibole.<\/p>\n<p>The color is usually dark blue, grey, or black, but can also be seen with an iridescence flash caused by inclusions of Labradorite. Anorthosite can be found in any area with a history of tectonic activity. Because this mineral is brought to the surface through geological changes of the planet.<\/p>\n<p>Some notable localities include the Saguenay Mass in eastern Canada, which contains around 60,000 square miles of Anorthosite under the surface.<\/p>\n<p>Notable localities also include Norway, Ukraine, South Africa, and the Appalachian Mountains in the eastern U.S.<\/p>\n<p>This mineral is created within the Earth\u2019s crust during a process called magmatic differentiation.
